Finish description

The polished finish remains popular due to offering smooth reflective surfaces that bring out the colours of the stone, while remaining scratch and damage resistant. For Dekton®, this is further amplified by the XGloss technology, which gives an unprecedented luminous and dazzling finish, ensuring a beautiful mirror effect with minimal distortions. XGloss is achieved as a result of a mechanical polish, with no need for varnishes or other materials.

NB! Due to its intense shine Dekton XGloss requires special maintenance and care, particularly with the darker shades, where intense black colour can reveal small details. Check Dekton and Dekton XGloss cleaning and maintenance manuals here.

Brand and technical description

Made by Cosentino®, Dekton® is a sophisticated mixture of more than 20 minerals extracted from nature. Its production process is the result of years of learning and inspiration in the manufacture of glass, state-of-the-art porcelain and quartz surfaces.

Dekton® uses in its manufacture the exclusive TSP technology, capable of sintering mineral particles causing them to bond with each other, change and compact their internal structure. A unique and innovative technological process that involves an accelerated version of the metamorphic changes that natural stone undergoes when exposed for millennia at high pressure and high temperature.

Electron microscopy allows to appreciate the reduced porosity of the material, consequence of the sintering and ultracompaction process exclusive to Dekton®. This reduced porosity and the absence of microdefects that cause tensions or weak points constitute the differential characteristic of Dekton®.
